SOL grew out of surf trips down the Baja peninsula, and the wood-grilled tacos and fresh ceviche at the roadside stands along the way. Chef Deborah Schneider created it, and this spot on the Coast Highway was the first.

Everything is made fresh each day, including seventeen house-made salsas. The patio looks out over the boats at Balboa Marina.

Tuesdays bring tacos, tequila, and live music, and there’s brunch on the weekends. The Balboa Marina public pier is a short walk away.
